Hi, I'm Dan and this is my wife Riza. I am 48 and my wife is 26. We founded Island Motor Tours, Inc. in 2009 and we personally serve as your tour guides on every tour we operate. Since 2007, we have been touring the Philippines on our motorcycle. During that time I have seen some of the most breathtaking and beautiful places imaginable and I can definitely say that the most memorable experiences I have to date are those captured while exploring the Philippine islands with my wife on our motorcycle. What better way to support my family than to do what I enjoy the most and, at the same time, offer to other people the opportunity to see and experience the same wonderful places, activities and scenery.

The first time I set out to tour the Philippines on motorcycle was in March 2006, before I met my wife. Although it would have been impossible to break my enthusiasm at that time, there were many things I encountered that surely would have discouraged many other people. First, I could find no place that would rent a motorcycle so I had to fork out over $1100 to buy a 115cc Honda XRM, the biggest bike I could find, then wait 10 days for the registration and tag (60 to 90 day waiting period now). While I was waiting for the registration and tag to be processed, I did what research was possible on the internet to establish my tour route since I could find no printed road maps available anywhere. Once I set out on tour, I continued to run into one obstacle after another such as bad directions, trying to find a decent place to eat and sleep and the ever impossible task of getting accurate information on ferry schedules and routes. When I returned from my tour of 7 days, I did some additional research on the internet about other people's experiences in touring the Philippines on motorcycle and I found they had encountered the exact same obstacles . . . motorcycle rental, bad directions, ferry schedules, lodging, food, communicating with the natives, etc. Almost everyone said they had the time of their life but it would have been 10 times better if they had not run into so many set-backs that held up their touring and introduced so much frustration.

For those of you who would choose to book a motorcycle and spot on one of our tours, I can promise that you will experience none of the frustrations and delays that I did. My wife and I do very well at ensuring all reservations and the tour itinerary as a whole are fulfilled as advertised and that our tours stay on schedule. We keep our tour groups small with 2 motorcycles minimum and 6 motorcycles maximum for a number of reasons but most importantly so that we always have adequate time and resources to devote to ensuring our tour guests have a safe, exciting and unforgettable adventure that they will treasure for a lifetime. Before we add on any new tour destination, restaurant or resort to our itinerary, my wife and I travel every inch of highway, eat at every restaurant and sleep at every resort. Regardless of whether or not we have run any previous tours to these new destinations, I can assure you that my wife and myself have been there and done that and it has gained our respect as being something extraordinary.

Our office is located directly adjacent to City Hall and a short 5 minute tricycle ride from all of the local luxury hotels and resorts. If you are planning on being in Butuan and are interested to see our office and bikes or want to check out our day tour offerings, just text me and I will be happy to come and pick you up. Our office is open Mon - Sat, 8:00am to 6:30pm and we operate day tours 7 days a week when we are not occupied by a package tour group.

regards to all our future guests,
