Isis Bungalows - Alona Beach, Panglao Island, Bohol
 |
Isis Bungalows is a resort hotel
on Panglao Island, which is connected by bridge to the
island of Bohol. The resort, which opened in 2005, is under
Swiss supervision and boasts world-class room accommodations
and a spacious restaurant with a panoramic view of the sea.
The resort is located right in the middle of Alona Beach, a
one kilometer stretch of soft white sand considered to be
the best beach in Panglao Island.
|
 |
Alona Beach is also a haven for
divers because of the Alona Beach Sanctuary, a shallow dive spot
that is home to anemones and multicolored corals, which is only
a five-minute boat ride away from the beach area.
Isis Bungalows is definitely the place for those who want to
experience the sun, the sand and the sea - the best that Panglao
Island has to offer.
|
 |
Isis Bungalows has 8
air-conditioned bungalows of different capacities and 4
air-conditioned rooms, each with its own terrace and a view of the
sea. Each bungalow or room has it's own spacious bathroom. All
accommodations are equipped with modern amenities such as hot and
cold water in the bathrooms, free wireless internet near the
reception and safe deposit boxes at the reception. Cable television
is also included in the bungalows and is optional in the rooms.
|
 |
The restaurant has a
covered area, as well as a large patio facing the sea for those who
want to dine al fresco. The restaurant specializes in Thai food and
they have their own Thai cook. You'll find tasty food here and
someone listening to your desires. Aside from Thai food the
restaurant also provides American, Continental and Filipino
breakfasts. Breakfast is such a wonderful moment in front of this
beautiful sea. And for those who prefers American, European, and
Filipino cuisine for lunch or dinner, there is a choice of different
entrées on the menu. You may also order "à-la-carte" if you want to
take some food out on one of the dive boats. Upon request, the Isis
Restaurant can help you discover some delicious Filipino specialties
based on sea weeds and raw fish for instance, "Kinilaw", which is a
native staple and prepared with cucumbers, raw fish, squid or shrimp
and marinated in vinegar with ginger, onion, chili and calamansi as
spices. |
 |
With all of the resorts
we stay at on this tour considered, I think this one is the one I
like the best. The rooms, the setting and the staff are all top
shelf. There exists a very exotic, relaxing and romantic ambiance to
the entire stay at this cozy little resort. |
 |
True to my statements prior about many resorts having
only a few luxury rooms, this resort also has has only 12 rooms
total and only 8 are "luxury". I really appreciate, however, a few
things that happen when we stay in this and other small resorts.
 |
We petty much own the
resort when we check-in, considering our tour staff, our tour
group and my own family take up most all of the rooms in the
resort. This means no unwanted annoyances unless we decide to
create them ourselves. |
 |
Booking almost every
room in a resort that often does good to have 25% occupancy
ensures we get the best of attention during our stay and our
special desires & requests get welcomed and fulfilled with open
arms. |
 |
The restaurant is
much more receptive to making "special request" dishes,
considering that there are few other people they are serving, if
any. |
|
 |
All things considered, if
I was operating a resort here in the Philippines, there are few
things I would do differently. Isis Bungalows has done it right.
Enjoy your stay !!! |
